US ARMY WW2 M1 Fixed Bale Front Seam Helmet Steel Helmet Winter with U.S. Firestone Liner

Original US WW2 M1 steel helmet, original WW2, fold of the front beading, fixed Bale bell stamped with lot no.
with original WW2 Firestone liner and chinstrap.

Why and when the (Firestone) liner was painted red is not known, the helmet was found like this and was in a private collection for decades.
Helmet and liner are definitely original WW2, also the paint of the bell still consists mostly of the original rough camouflage paint
and a partial / partial winter camouflage.
