Original US WW2 M1 steel helmet, original WW2, fold of the front flare, swivel bale, bell repainted, replaced repro canvas chinstrap.with original WW2 Firestone liner.
It is not known why and when the (Firestone) liner was painted red, the helmet was found like this and was in a private collection for decades.Helmet and liner are definitely original WW2, the paint on the bell, as mentioned, has been renewed.
