Wehrmacht Carbine Sniper Tropical Canvas Sight Cover Sight Protector K98 98K
Tropical sight cover / sight protector made from old canvas material for the 98K carbine.
These covers were used to protect the slide-out sight – when not in use – from dirt and damage during tough frontline operations, and also to prevent glare in the sight when the weapon was fired whilst hot. A sniper rarely needs to use the open sights, but should this nevertheless be necessary, the sliding sight is opened and the leather cap is folded down. To prevent it from being lost, the whole assembly is secured with a strap.
