The waistcoat was specially developed for the US Rangers for the Normandy landings in 1944 to carry additional equipment on the man. Two large back pockets, 4 large front pockets, 2 small hand grenade pockets, all pockets can be closed with quick-release fasteners, extra loops for attaching additional equipment such as the folding spade on the back. Rare piece of equipment!
