Wehrmacht Carbine Sniper Sight Cover Sight Protection K98 98K

 

Sight cover / visor protection made of leather for the Karabiener 98K. These covers were used to protect the unused slide sight from dirt and damage in hard front use and furthermore to prevent flickering in front of the optics when the weapon is shot hot. A sharpshooter needs the open sight relatively seldom, and if this should be necessary nevertheless, one opens the plug-in slide and folds the leather cap down. To avoid loss the whole thing is secured with the strap.
