WW2 British Army rain cape.MKVII British Army olive drab waterproof cape/pad. This is a cape/pad made from rubberised cotton fabric.The British Army soldier wore a cape/pad in the field, which was issued from 1917 until the 1960s. Later in the Second World War, the British soldier began to colour his original brown underlay, as it was very visible to the enemy, in either black or green, whichever was available. Later, towards the end of the Second World War, an olive drab cape was issued and remained in military use until the 1960s. This cape is an original from 1945, which was stored in the Greek Army in 1970.It could be used as: - waterproof underlay- protection to stay dry.- cape by buttoning up the front.
